MEET TYANNA.

Tyanna West is a public historian, cultural preservationist, and performing artist from North Carolina. She is currently a graduate public history major at North Carolina Central University. She will receive her Master of Arts in History May 2023. Tyanna has worked on several cultural preservation projects including the ACLS project 'Expanding the Digital Library of American Slavery'. As a Gullah Geechee descendant with southeastern North Carolina roots, Tyanna is very passionate about highlighting little known North Carolina African American history.
